Sony tried to trademark the term “Let’s Play” at the end of last year

More than a regular at the platforms as Youtube will sound the expression ‘Let’s Play’, which was adopted some years ago by the users and professionals of digital media to group your own games, guides or various gameplays, usually adding your comments and impressions.

According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Sony is interested in acquiring the registration of those two words, trying to process it on 28th of October, but the action was dismissed on December 29.

The description given to the United States Patent and Trademark Office to Let’s Play is the electronic transmission and streaming of video games by global and local networks; streaming of audio material, images and audiovisual by global and local networks

This does not mean that Sony can not use ‘Let’s Play’ as a slogan or to name a program or service, but suggests that the record itself, in its current state, can not be processed and should be changed, possibly because the range of meanings of words or the ambiguity of its description.
